Goodin Outfitters is a family owned small operation that will
ensure an enjoyable time in the field. With increasing
lease prices and less time available many people do not
have time to spend outdoors scouting and hunting, and we
are here to help by offering fully guided deer and turkey
hunts, as well as quail and rabbit hunting opportunities.
We are located just southeast of Elizabethtown, Ky and are
only 10 minutes from I-65. We have access to over 250
acres on our home farm that is used mainly for small game.
On this farm we have about 10 acres of Native Warm
Season Grasses, two ponds, an orchard of apple and
peach trees, and several food plots. Just minutes down
the road is our other farm of over 400 acres. This farm has
been hunted only by family and friends for many years
now. This farm consist of agricultural practices including
corn and soybeans, has 40 plus acres of CRP ground, 5
acre of Native Warm Season Grasses, a creek running
through the middle of it, and oak ridges with around 50 to
75 acres of woods. Our Quality Deer Management plan
has been in effect now for 3 years and the improvements
have been exceptional in our deer herd. Goodin outfitters is
working on adding adjoining farms to our leases.
Deer hunting - Goodin Outfitters will be offering great
deer hunting adventures starting in the 2008 season. Our
QDM plan is based on mature bucks with no bucks taken
at less than 3 1/2 years of age. We have no minimum
antler restrictions, our management plan is to manage for
mature whitetails. Larger antlers is only a by product of
age. They will be archery only deer hunts and will be
limited the first year to only 10 people!!! Book now to have
a first shot at our quality whitetails.
Turkey Hunting - Goodin Outfitters also offers great
spring trophy turkey hunting adventures. With flocks in the
fall being seen with over 200 birds and seeing 12 to 15
long beards in a group I assure you it will be a hunt you
wont forget. We harvested 7 birds so far in the 08 season
One going a little over 23lbs and another two at 21 one of
which had an 11 inch beard and inch and a quarter spurs.
Goodin Outfitters is also offering fall turkey hunts but only
allowing the taking of hens to make for more exciting spring
hunts with less hens getting in the way. It is an excellent
way to introduce the kids to turkey hunting!!
Rabbit Hunting- We are now offering rabbit hunts. We
have dogs and plenty of rabbits or if you have dogs but
cant seam to find the rabbits you can run your own dogs.
Rabbit hunting is a great way to get youth involved in
hunting as well as remember the good old days.
